چکیده

This paper presents a case study in the generic design of Grid component models. It defines a framework allowing two component systems, one running in a CCA environment, and another running in a Fractal environment, to interact as if they were elements of the same system. This work demonstrates the openness of both Fractal and CCA component models. It also gives a very generic and exhaustive overview of the interaction strategies that can be adopted to allow full integration of these two models, like strategies for reusing in Fractal single components from the CCAworld and connecting a Fractal system to an already running CCA assembly. Finally, it presents the implementation and results of investigation of interoperability between two given component frameworks: MOCCA and ProActive. In generall, this paper presents the key concepts useful to make any two component models interoperate.

Component-based approach for programming and running scientific applications on grids and clouds

This paper presents an approach to programming and running scientific applications on grid and cloud infrastructures based on two principles: the first one is to follow a component-based programming model, the second is to apply a flexible technology which allows for virtualization of the underlying infrastructure. The solutions described in this paper include high-level composition and deploym...

Project No. FP6-004265 CoreGRID European Research Network on Foundations, Software Infrastructures and Applications for large scale distributed, GRID and Peer-to-Peer Technologies Network of Excellence GRID-based Systems for solving complex problems

This document describes a Grid component model (called GCM). It defines the main features to be included in the GCM, as currently assessed in the Programming Model Institute. By defining the GCM, the Institute aims at the precise specification of an effective GCM. Fractal has been chosen by the CoreGrid community as the basis for the definitions of the GCM: The GCM features is roughly defined a...

Evaluate the performance of SDSM model in different station and predict climate variables for future

According to the fourth report from the IPCC was confirmed climate change and its impacts on drought, floods, health problems and food shortages. Therefore, understanding of how climate change could be important in the management of resources, especially water resources management. Atmosphere-Ocean Global Circulation Models (AOGCM) are tools for predicting the future climate variables and it mu...

Exploring the Design Space for CCA Framework Interoperability Approaches

One important challenge to building and deploying high performance scientific applications in grid environments is providing a software development model that abstracts the complexity of the environment and simplifies the programmer’s task, allowing her to focus on the details of her particular application. Component frameworks, including those that support the Common Component Architecture (CC...

The CCA component model for high-performance scientific computing

The Common Component Architecture (CCA) is a component model for high-performance computing, developed by a grass-roots effort of computational scientists. Although the CCA is usable with CORBA-like distributed-object components, its main purpose is to set forth a component model for high-performance, parallel computing. Traditional component models are not well suited for performance and massi...
